EMISSION LEGAL 3.4-LITER ENGINE CONVERSION PACKAGE
P/N 12363230
Performance Parts has introduced a new emission-legal (49 states, excluding California) 3.4-liter V6 engine package designed for 1982-1985 S-10 pickups and Blazers (excluding 82-83 with manual transmission) originally equipped with 2.8-liter V6 engines. The 3.4-liter (207ci) version of Chevy’s popular 60 degree V6 offers nearly a 20 percent increase in displacement over the 2.8-liter (173ci) V6. The .120-inch larger bore and .320 longer stroke produce a significant improvement in performance.
In addition to its larger displacement, the 3.4-liter engine benefits from an improved camshaft profile and valvetrain upgrades. These features complement each other to help the 3.4 liter produce nearly 40 more horsepower than the stock 2.8-liter engine.
The bigger V6 is virtually a bolt-in for the tired 2.8-liter engine designed to utilize the existing intake manifold, ignition system, and water pump from the original 2.8-liter engine. Some models may require using the oil and other components from the original engine, and an in-line electric fuel pump is required for the conversion. The 1982-83 models with manual transmission use a clutch cross shaft with a ball stud boss on the block. This new 3.4-liter does not have that clutch boss cast on the block.
The 3.4-liter engine conversion package part number 12363230 includes the engine assembly, comprehensive installation instructions, and decals. This long block comes assembled and does not include the following items: intake manifold, distributor, and water pump which must be transferred from original engine.
This engine also makes for a great kit car engine as seen by the one made by BRUNTON AUTOMOTIVE.
