I was told the following starter would work well on a pre-86 small block chevy with header clearance and hot start problems: Part#1046-5167. The starter weighs about 8.5 lbs and is a gear reduction starter.
I would like to know if the starter will bolt up and work with my flywheel and what it's originally designed for.
