NEED-HELP!!! Would like to install a borgwarner T-56 in my 1978 malibu that has a 500HP 383 small block.

I have a 1978 malibu street machine with a 500hp 383 small block, backed by a turbo 400 tranny and a 9in ford rear with 3.70 gears and a detroit locker. Know, I would like to replace the turbo hydro for a T=56 borgwarner six speed manual tranny. I have the chance to buy a T-56 out of a pontiac firebird and in good shape for $700.00. And the aftermarket T-56 which comes with all the adapters and speedo mods is something too the tune of $2300.00. My question is, can I make the t-56 out of the firebird work or not because I'm not shore it will because of the bell housing, clutch assembly and electronic speedo. I just don't know all the in's and out's too this swap yet. Any help with these questions would be great
