Peter, without knowing what your application is - it would be very difficult to recommend a camshaft. The cylinder head porting does do wonders, especialy on the exhaust side - and intake bowls - be sure to perform a precise multi-angle valve job too! I have a customer with a '72 Chevelle on which I ported the heads,changed the cam (Mark V 502 - flat tappet hyd) - stock intake manifold, that is running 11.0"s on D.O.T. tires.
