This is a case of almost, but not quite, the MK IV block water passages don't match with the oversize coolant holes in your MK V heads. If (this is a big IF) the castings are made with core shift in the correct direction, its is possible to mate these two breeds. This has to be checked out on a individual basis, I"ve seen just two cases where the heads didn't leak coolant!
To check the alignment,I make templates of both the block and head coolant holes out of thin poster board, then compare to determine if there is proper head gasket support. Use a Felpro 1017-1 gasket, if you're lucky to be able to use this combination.
Be sure to index your templates off of the dowel pins to locate everything properly. Good luck!
