300 hp motor or a Vortec motor 350

Partsmaster you told me that if I put a zz4 cam in a 300hp motor it would make 335hp and then if I put Vortec heads on it would make 355 hp. I will be buying a motor soon so would I be better of by just buying a vortec 350 vs the 300hp/350? I do not care about the intake diff. I could buy the edelbrock performer rpm intake that would work. Are the vortec heads angle plug? what motor would you pick?
