: I am building a 97 vortec motor to install in my 91 truck. I had the engine bored .030 over installed trw forged flattop 2valve relief pistons, a h.o.t. cam kit from your company, I plan on installing the edlebrock intake for this engine and a 750 edlebrock carb. I have a few questions? one, what ignition set-up can I run? can I use the distributor that is currently in the 91? What will I need to do since I will not be using the computer? will my brakes and gauges still function properly, how about cruise control and airconditioning fast idle switch. I also plan on installing a 700R-4 tranny in this truck, which presently has a 5-speed with a 3:08 rear end. I know I will need to shorten the drive shaft and change the yoke. The 700R-4 is out of a
: 87 camaro. It has the corvette servo, kevlar clutches and will lock-up by pressure in 4th only. What can I do about the speedometer cable? can I take the reluctor ring off of my tranny and instll it on the 700r4? I will also have to overide the clutch switch. What is the best rear end set up for this truck. It will be a daily driver? What header size should I run? The vortec heads on my engine have been machined with screw in studs and had 2.02 intake and 1.60 ex installed also. What kind of Hp do you think this engine will produce? If someone can answer any of my questions i would appreciate it.
:I run 4.10 gears in a 82 C-10 truck with a 4L60 (same as a 700R4) it has a 502 engine, tire size 31x10.5.Hiway speed is great and out of hole acceleration is awesome.
