Your runnability problem could be several problems. MAP sensor, essentially the sensor that feeds info on load, vacuum to the ECM. Check your base ignition timing. Have the fuel pressure tested, you could have a problem with the regulator. Usually when the base gasket under the TBI unit goes out, you end up with a high idle condition, but don't rule out the possibility that it is leaking. The dealer who you took it to should have found a trouble code in the computer. If you can't find the problem, check with another shop.
