Engine swap or not for 4.3L Vortech in S-15?

I just "inherited" an 89 S-15 2wd pickup with a 4.3L
engine. Engine has a thrown rod. Two questions:
1) what is the cost of a new 4.3L Vortech Longblock?

2) Is the 5.7L swap a reasonable swap?
