     The thought of installing an electronically controlled transmission might be intimidating for some. But wait a minute. Installing one of the transmissions with the electronic hardware really is simple. Hughes furnishes all the optional necessary hardware to make this installation a snap, including a foolproof stand-alone computer. You can even utilize the OE column shifter, or, for floor-mounted applications, the Performance’s Mega Shifter can be installed for 4-on-the-floor. Hughes now ships the programmer with the optional control unit to facilitate program changes quickly.

Note: The Transmission TCM Computer Kit 25-100, the Speedometer Controller for installing 4L80E in older vehicles with mechanical speedometers 25-150, etc., are not included with these kits. They have to be purchased separately. This, along with rewording their description above some, is to clarify the somewhat misleading description of these kits provided by Hughes in their catalog. These kits only include what is listed below under “Transmission Assemblies”.
