This page show the area on the inner lip of the 130 series Proform valve covers that will need to mill in most cases for cylinder heads like the Fast Burn cylinder heads. This information is provided to make it easier to understand where these valve covers will need to be milled at and how much they will need to be milled. PROFORM 130 SERIES VALVE COVER INNER LIP MILLING

Picture above showing areas of interest on valve cover marked. The inner lip will need to be milled down to below the height (thickness) of the valve cover gasket.

The inner lip on Proform’s valve covers may need to be milled to .015” - .020” lower then the gasket used to fit properly on some heads. This lip hangs down farther and is vertical compared to the standard steel valve cover whose inner lip hangs down less then the outer lip and is slanted inward. This is usually required when used on the Fast Burn heads.

Picture above shows a ruler laid across the bottom of the valve cover from end to end after the inner lip on both ends have been milled to the correct height for the valve cover gasket to be used. Note that the inner lip on these valve covers hangs down further then the outer lip and a large amount of material will have to be milled off from the inner lip on both ends of the valve cover for these valve covers to work on some cylinder heads like the Fast Burn cylinder heads.
