The T-56 transmissions shown below are the GM factory T-56 transmissions used in production vehicles. They are the replacement transmissions for those vehicles.

GM T-56 SIX SPEED FOR 1993 REPLACEMENT

P/N 10236021      This slick-shifting six speed manual transmission assembly offers the best of two automotive worlds: quick acceleration and economical cruising. For 1993 replacement. T-56 Transmission Specifications Gear Ratios: First 2.97:1, Second 2.07:1, Third 1.43:1, Forth 1.00:1, Fifth 0.80:1, Sixth 0.62:1, Reverse 3.28:1 Design Torque Rating: 400 lb-ft Approximate Dry Weight: 125 lbs. GM T-56 SIX SPEED FOR 1994 TO 1997 REPLACEMENT

P/N 12558016      This six-speed transmission is used in the 1994 Camaro and Firebird with RPO 1LE performance handling package. This transmission has the same spec’s as part number 10236021 above, but with a different gear ratio. For 1994 to 1997 replacement. GM’s T-56 Transmission Specifications Gear ratios: 2.66:1 first, 1.78:1 second, 1.30:1 third, 1.00:1 fourth, .74:1 fifth, .50:1 sixth, and 3.28:1 reverse. Torque capacity: 450 lb-ft. P/N 12552099      This six-speed transmission is similar to part number 12558016 above with the same gear ratio. Due to changes to the housing, etc., the parts list above will not work with this transmission. No picture is available. 1998 to 2002 replacement, fits LS1 engines. T-56 Transmission Specifications Gear ratios: 2.66:1 first, 1.78:1 second, 1.30:1 third, 1.00:1 fourth, .74:1 fifth, .50:1 sixth, and 3.28:1 reverse. Torque capacity: 450 lb-ft.
