More information on this is on our help page.  ENGINE OIL SYSTEM PARTS P/N Description Link Oil Pans and Oil Pan Drain Plugs OIL PAN PLANS Production Chevrolet small-block V8 and V6/90-degree engines were redesigned in 1986 with a leak-resistant one-piece rear seal. This change required a revised oil pan design to fit a new rear seal retainer which is bolted to the back of the engine block. A new one-piece pan gasket replaced the four-piece gasket set used on pre-1986 engines. As a result of these changes, oil pans and gaskets are not interchangeable between 1955-85 and 1986-up engines. If you have installed crankshaft seal adapter P/N 10051118 on a block which is machined for a one-piece rear seal, you must use an oil pan and gasket designed for 1986 and newer engines. Note: Pans do not come with dipsticks or other hardware unless otherwise noted. 12557558 SBC ZZ4 HO 350. Five quart Camaro/Caprice oil pan. Right hand dipstick. This 5 quart 1965-74 Corvette oil pan has a trap door baffle that controls oil slosh during cornering and heavy breaking. A flat metal oil splash baffle (windage tray) P/N 03967854 is included with this assembly to separate the oil in the sump from the crank assembly. Technical Note: Used on LS7 engine assembly P/N 03965774. Windage tray requires four mounting studs P/N 03902885. -- 14091488 BBC Production Camaro/Chevelle. -- 12495360 BBC oil pan. This 4 quart oil pan kit is for all 1991 and later Gen V and Gen VI 454 and 502 ci engines. This pan should fit most early model Chevelle and Camaro vehicles. The kit includes the 4 quart oil pan, four main cap bolts P/N 10106461, oil pump screen P/N 03955281, oil level tube P/N 00329231, oil level gauge P/N 03989391, and oil pan gasket P/N 10106407. This oil pan is not serviced separately. -- 14103141 BBC oil pan. This 6 quart oil pan was used on the last LS6 454 engines produced by GM. It will fit all 1965-90 big-block Chevrolet engines. -- 10240721 BBC oil pan. This 6 quart oil pan fits the Gen V and Gen VI 454 ci HO engines. It was used on 1991-92 10-30 pick-up trucks. -- 12552968 BBC oil pan. This 8 quart oil pan is used on 1991 through current model Gen VI engines. These pans are used on medium duty trucks. Oil pressure in small-block and V6/90° Chevrolet engines is regulated by a spring in the oil pump cover. This spring (color-coded white) produces approximately 70 psi oil pressure. Technical Notes: Used in high-performance oil pump P/N 12555884 [Old P/N 3848907]. Minimum recommended oil pressure for off-highway use is 65 psi at engine operating speed. -- Oil Pumps 93442037 SBC Oil Pump, ZZ4 Crate Engine. This pump is used on the ZZ4 and will produce 30 psi at 1,000 RPM and 50 psi at 2,000 RPM on average with clean, warmed up, 30 weight oil and a clean or new oil filter as long as the main and rod bearing clearances are set properly. It can produce around 58 psi in ideal situations at higher RPMS. Does not include screen, P/N 12550042. The pickup tube dia. is .742” for this pump. [Old P/N 12555283] -- 12555284 SBC Oil Pump, ZZZ-ZZ3 Crate Engines. This pump is used on ZZZ through ZZ3 crate engines. Does not include screen, P/N 03855152. The pickup tube dia. is .620” for this pump. -- 12555884 SBC Oil Pump, High Pressure Z28/LT1. Production high-pressure oil pump with 1.20” gears. Will produce 60-70 psi oil pressure. Does not include screen. The pickup tube dia. is 5/8” for this pump. -- 14044872 SBC Oil Pump, High-Volume. This high-volume pump has 1.50” long gears. This pump is installed in LS7 engine assembly P/N 3965774. -- 00475902 BBC L88 Oil Pump and Screen. High-performance Corvette oil pump. The distance from the pump mounting surface to the bottom of the screen is 4.94”. (Discontinued) Disc. 10051105 BBC High Volume Pump. This high-volume oil pump is for all big-block V8s and has 25% more capacity than a production pump at standard pressure. It will extend engine life by increasing internal cooling. This pump ensures that the engine has adequate lubrication under all operating conditions. Technical Notes: This pump does not include a pickup and screen assembly. Use with oil pan P/N 12495360 and screen P/N 03955281. -- 12555167 BBC Mark V Oil Pump and Screen. This oil pump and screen are for use with the 454 ci 4.7 liter HO and 502 ci 8.2 liter HO engine. These engines are Gen V and Gen VI design with the 1 piece rear main seals. This pump has a 1.30” long gear and will fit Mark IV engines. The distance from the mounting surface to the bottom of the screen is 5.87” and the screen is not welded. It is recommenced that you tack weld the screen to the pump. -- 03865886 BBC Oil Pump Shaft. Weld or braze the pickup tube to the pump cover for off-highway applications. -- Oil Filters, Connectors, Valves, And Adapters 25013454 PF-35L Synthetic Media. The PF-35L heavy-duty spin-on oil filter can replace any PF-25 or PF-35 filter on 1968 and later Chevrolet V8 engines. It has a 100% synthetic element that is rated at 12 microns. Its synthetic glass filter media provides finer filtration than conventional cellulose (paper) filters. The individual strands of synthetic glass used in the PF35L are smaller and more consistent in size than cellulose fibers. These glass fibers are supported by a polyester sheet laminated on both sides, and the pleated synthetic filter element is backed by a metal screen. This extremely efficient filter can reduce engine wear by 75% compared to conventional filters without restricting the flow of oil. Technical Notes: PF35L filters can be used in many competition oil systems with remote-mounted filters. -- 03952301 BBC And SBC Oil Filter Adapter. For BBC Mark IV and older only, also all small-block Chevrolets. This adapter mounts a spin-on cartridge oil filter. It contains a filter bypass valve used on all V8 engines. Technical Notes: This adapter is used with the 5.7 liter High Output engine assembly. It requires two attaching bolts P/N 03951644. -- 03951644 Oil Filter Adapter Bolt for P/N 0395301. -- 03853870 BBC Connector. Used with Gen V and Gen VI 454 and 502 ci big-blocks. -- 25013759 BBC Oil Cooler Bypass Valve. High-performance and Bow Tie big-block V8s with four-bolt main bearing caps have provisions for oil cooler lines. This oil filter bypass valve must be installed in the rear hole behind the oil filter adaptor bolt to route oil through the cooler. --
